"Each tuna fish has its own way of fighting": this is the spirit of a real story made up of real lives, shaped by sacrifices and strain, lived by people who know the sea so well to the point they know that each tuna fish has its way of resisting and fighting back once it's caught.
The authors have captured many small gestures, minimal tiles creating a big mosaic, together with heartfelt interviews that have unveiled a boundless passion for the sea. That same sea that the most faithful fishermen would never give in.Despite the strain, the cold, the early rising. Even when time flies, and the days passing by seem to call them back for a break.
The sea must be respected. The sea is afraid of no one, a fisherman instead has many reasons to be scared every time he leaves the mainland. Fishermen swear devotion to the sea and indeed they devote most of their time to it.To the point of risking to disappoint their children because of their prolonged absences, those same children to whom they give bread thanks to their hard work. Seamen, often have dark skin and sea in their blood. Able to navigate by simply looking at a star. Like modern Peter Pans unable to grow old, despite the wrinkles furrowed by sea salt.
